THE FACE: MEMOIR AND THE MIRROR
“…All the people who have touched my face, slapped it, punched it, kissed it, washed it… all of that human contact must leave some trace.”
“What did your face look like before your parents were born?”
When we look in the mirror, who is looking? What do we see? What do we want to see? What memories and stories are found there?
In this two-part workshop, writers will use mirrors and photographs to explore images of self, ancestry, youth, aging and personal history. Experienced and aspiring writers welcome.
Workshop will include:
– writing prompts
– in-class writing
– writing at home between classes
– discussion of craft
– supportive feedback and critique
Two Wednesday mornings: October 26 & November 2, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
